Florence is an Analyst with Microtraction responsible for East Africa. She started out her career as an Engineer and Project Manager in the oil and gas industry before pivoting to Venture Capital. She led the deal screening team for inbound deals for LoftyInc Capital/Afropreneur Angel Group and managed Wennovation Hub’s portfolio/community. Her experience at LoftyInc shaped her understanding of Africa’s ecosystem as her day to day activities entailed interacting with entrepreneurs and operators across Africa. Being a sector agnostic fund, she was exposed to various verticals, from fintech, agritech, logistics and edtech, and all these experiences have helped her form a view on the importance of early stage investing as the primary driver of the venture capital ecosystem.
